In The Clinic

Crossroads offers a variety of services in a variety of ways to meet the needs of each client.  Therapy programs and recommendations are tailored to each individual client and are developed with the family.  As always, if you have questions, feel free to contact us for more information..

Evaluations and On-going Therapy Services.  We offer direct therapy services for those families living the Austin, New Braunfels, San Antonio area.  Therapy services begin with a full evaluation to determine your child's needs.  At that time, the therapist will discuss their findings and develop a plan with you.  Therapy may be provided in a clinical setting or in the home, depending on location and therapist availability.  Contact us directly for fees, to schedule an appointment or talk with a therapist directly.

Intensive Therapy Programs.  Crossroads offers Intensive Therapy Programs to "Jump Start" skills in a given area. Programs are offerred from two days to several weeks depending on the needs of the child and the family.

An Intensive Therapy Program will "Jump Start" specific skills: provide training for the parent or caregiver who will be implementing the program at home, provide multiple opportunities to observe therapy sessions (all sessions are recorded and provided to the family), and provide opportunities to work through "difficult activities" for the client and/or the parent.  A phone interview is required prior to scheduling an Intensive Therapy Program to determine if the client is ready for this program and what time span would be most appropriate.

Home Programs.  Many Parents looking for our therapy programs already have a therapy team in place and are searching for therapy strategies to supplement their current therapies at home.  Many have found us through work of mouth, list services, or a recommendation by a therapist on your team.  We are happy to work with you and provide a detailed home program to address your oral-motor, feeding, and motor speach concerns.  A typical evaluation takes two hours, and program plan updates for families who have already had an initial evaluation and are currently working on a home program take 1 1/2 hours.  We encourage you to bring any team-member to the evaluation who may be assisting, as we will write an extensive program plan that will give you step-by-step instructions for each recommended strategy.  We recommend that you bring a video camera with you to record the session as no formal descriptive report will be written unless specifically requested.  You will receive your program plan within 2 to 4 weeks after your visit.  Families and team members are encouraged to contact the evaluation therapist with questions or concerns via email while working through the program.  Periodic contact will ensure continued progress toward your speech and language goals.  We are here to nelp in any way we can.

Off-Site Evaluations in Your Area.  Some therapists on our therapy team may offer evaluations in your area.  For more information see Off-Site Evaluations for details.
