Intensive Therapy Programs.
Crossroads provides intensive therapy programs to
“jump start” skills in a given area.
Intensive therapy programs are offered from 2 days to several
weeks depending on the needs of the child and family.
An Intensive therapy
program will:
·
“Jump start” client skills.
·
Provide training for the parent or caregiver who will be
implementing the program at home.
·
Provide multiple opportunities to observe therapy sessions (all
sessions are recorded and provided for the family to return home).
·
Provide opportunities to work through behavior/compliance issues.
·
Provide opportunities to work through “difficult activities” for the
client and/or parent.
A phone interview is required prior to scheduling
an intensive therapy program to determine if the client is ready for
this program and what time span would be most appropriate.
Video Conferencing:
NEW!!
Crossroads is offering live, video
conferencing through SKYPE, an internet conferencing service, for
clients who have had an evaluation or Program Plan Update by Renee.
She now offers this service realizing there is a benefit to
continuous contact between the therapist and the family that is
implementing therapy programs either with a therapist that is new to
oral placement therapy or on their own.
Internet Conferencing:
·
Allows the family to have additional support between Evaluations and
Program Plan Updates who do not live in New Braunfels, Texas.
·
Provides families with an opportunity to have Renee work directly
with them (like having her right there!) to ensure they are
implementing the therapy correctly.
·
Provides regular updates of the client’s home program rather than
waiting 6-8 months for a Program Plan Update.
Requirements:
·
High Speed Internet and adequate web cam.
A test call will be done prior to scheduling to ensure
connection and camera is adequate.
·
A hands-on evaluation with Renee with written program plan at least
1 time a year. Video
conferencing does not replace the need to work with a client
hands-on. Once Renee has
worked with a client and understands his or her skills, video
conferencing can be used as support therapy for the family.
