Testimonials
I would like to introduce
you to a Speech and Language Pathologist who will change the lives
of patients with feeding and/or
speech disorders. She will also change your perceptions about
children with special needs.
I met Renee Roy Hill 5
years ago. I had just put my medical practice on hold to stay home
with
my infant daughter, Ella,
who has Down
syndrome.
Initially,
Ella had great
difficulty feeding.
She was losing
weight, jaundiced, and lethargic.
I imagined her
future would include multiple episodes of otitis media leading to
hearing loss, chronic drooling with resultant dental decay and skin
breakdown,
and recurrent
bronchitis and pneumonia from abnormal swallowing.
I had little hope
that she would speak intelligibly,
if she would speak:
at all. Her
education,
interpersonal
relationships, and future career would all be negatively impacted.
I was wrong. There were 2
things I didn't
know.
First,
I was not aware of
Oral-Motor Therapy and how it could improve and even prevent the
characteristics listed above. Second,
much of my
"knowledge"
about Down
syndrome and other children with special needs was based on myths
and outdated information. I have been very fortunate to have Renee
as my daughter'S
Speech and Language Pathologist and Oral-Motor Therapist. Ella has
clear speech that is typical for any child her age. Her speech has
developed on time and has allowed her to also learn Spanish. Her
mouth posture is beautiful,
without tongue
protrusion or drooling. She hasn't
had a single episode of otitis media.
I attribute this
remarkable success to Renee's extensive training, her ability to
teach parents how to implement exercises at home,
and her passion
for
helping others.
I encourage you to learn
more from Renee about how she can help your patients with feeding or
speech difficulties. It's a fascinating topic,
and rewarding to
see the results.

For the last three years
we’ve brought our son, Logan to Renee’s clinic for one and two-week
long intensive therapy sessions.
Each time we are amazed at the
remarkable progress made.
By concentrating practice
on the fundamentals like lip rounding, jaw strength and stability,
and breath support, Logan’s speech is making dramatic improvement.
Logan enjoys our at-home therapy
program designed by Renee and continues to advance in the weeks
between our intensive therapy visits.
Logan’s preschool teachers
and therapists are amazed at the progress Logan has made and I know
it’s because of Renee’s unique program.
It is like magic.
